CTA emphasizes standards work as unsung element in AI policy development

The Consumer Technology Association says its artificial intelligence standards for health care and other sectors provide a flexible and effective alternative to top-down regulation and that industry-crafted standards should be the foundation for government AI policies.

“We urge government to base its policies on industry-driven standards,” David Grossman, CTA’s vice president of policy and regulatory affairs, told Inside AI Policy. “This standards work is a piece of the story we need to do a better job of telling.”
