Court hands victory to OpenAI in dispute over access to documents on training AI models

A federal district court has agreed to allow OpenAI more time to respond to plaintiffs’ request for information about the training of its artificial intelligence products, saying the burden from a multitude of copyright infringement cases filed against the AI developer requires coordination.

Moreover, the U.S. district court for northern California admonished the class-action plaintiffs in Tremblay et al. v. OpenAI et al. to be more collegial in their requests regarding the data used to train the ChatGPT generative AI...
