Court denies dismissal of copyright claims against OpenAI in landmark New York Times suit

A federal district court has rejected a dismissal request from OpenAI and Microsoft about alleged copyright infringements from the training of generative artificial intelligence, in an opinion that articulates a legal justification on how federal copyright law applies to AI in a landmark consolidated lawsuit initiated by the New York Times.
