CISA highlights comments to NTIA on benefits of ‘open’ AI foundation models

Policymakers considering the need for restrictions on the release of foundational open-weight artificial intelligence models should note ways in which traditional open-source software has, on balance, improved safety and security, according to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
