Cantwell and Rodgers strike deal on bipartisan data privacy bill with AI implications

Senate Commerce Chair Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and House Energy and Commerce Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) have announced a deal that would break a years-long stalemate over enacting a federal data privacy law, and fill in an important piece of the nation’s slowly emerging artificial intelligence policy framework.
