Broad coalition asks key lawmakers to push for AI Safety Institute authorization

A broad coalition of tech and other industry groups, researchers and civil society organizations is asking the bipartisan leaders of the House Science and Senate Commerce panels to put their weight behind legislation formally establishing in law the AI Safety Institute created at NIST under President Biden’s artificial intelligence executive order of 2023.
