ARI warns against chip sales to China as tech groups weigh in ahead of Trump-Xi meeting

The tech group Americans for Responsible Innovation is trying to warn the Trump administration away from easing restrictions on AI chip sales to China, on the eve of a summit between Presidents Trump and Xi Jinping.

Trump and Xi are in South Korea for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit and are expected to hold a bilateral meeting Oct. 30. Their deputies have been engaged in running negotiations leading up to the meeting.
