AI Safety Institute’s Kelly aims for ‘gold standard’ in guidance on safe and secure systems

Director Elizabeth Kelly says NIST’s AI Safety Institute is focused on “testing, research and guidance” with an emphasis on both large and smaller artificial intelligence models that demonstrate significant advances in capabilities, and aims to help produce tools that represent the best-practices “gold standard” for AI developers.
