AI-related bills clear Senate Homeland Security, Judiciary panels in year-end legislative push

The Senate Judiciary and Homeland Security committees have approved artificial intelligence-related bills on patent reform and uses of AI in border control, respectively, for possible year-end floor action.

The Senate Judiciary Committee on Nov. 21 passed S. 2220, the PREVAIL Act by intellectual property subcommittee Chair Chris Coons (D-DE), subcommittee ranking member Thom Tillis (R-NC), Judiciary Chairman Richard Durbin (D-IL) and Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI).
