AI issues make the priority list for SEC division under new management

The Securities and Exchange Commission’s examination division will continue to focus on artificial intelligence as a top priority, a year after the Biden administration emphasized the issue in the division’s annual agenda for the first time.

The SEC on Nov. 17 released “Fiscal Year 2026 Examination Priorities: Division of Examinations,” addressing AI issues such as enhanced cybersecurity risks and uses of AI tools.
