AI-driven data center industry seeks regulatory reduction amid local opposition
Federal agencies looking to facilitate demand -- fueled by artificial intelligence -- from major cloud service providers for energy intensive data centers are hearing industry appeals for reduced security regulations and about local pushback against accompanying infrastructure.
“Data centers are not new, but the way we're using them is, and even before artificial intelligence supercharged demand, data centers have become a linchpin of our digital economy,” Alan Davidson, chief of the National Telecommunication and Information Administration said.
