TikTok lawsuit cites U.S. export controls to deny AI to China

TikTok owner ByteDance is arguing in a U.S. court that Commerce Department restrictions on semiconductor suppliers, intended to deny China access to artificial intelligence, are similar to Beijing’s IT restrictions and make it difficult if not impossible for the company to sever its relationship with the social media platform.
